- it’s simple: don’t take class.. you won’t get better
- if you really cared, you’d be good by now
- how you do in class shows how good you are, not performances or “concept” videos
- if you keep doing the same things.. you’ll get the same results
- being aware of the dance scene is so fuckin…
I want there to be a fairness to this list. Although I agree with whats said I think we need to pay attention to the fact that not everyone sees dance as importantly as others.
Yes its a great outlet for you creative side, to get rid of the frustrations in life, even to just have something to do whenever you feel like it but what I’ve seen in this circuit is a huge difference between wanting to go pro and wanting to just have fun.
But what I think this is getting that is…Be the best dancer you can be for yourself. Don’t sit there on a team wondering why you don’t look as good as your directors or other people. You know how they got there and your journey may be a bit different but at some point or another these “figures” on the East coast, West coast, Beijing wherever were just like you and they decided for themselves I’m going to take this where I want it to go for me. And if you have the opportunity to try something new do it. There is so much dance out there that will help you in the style you already do its uncanny and then you can sit there and inspire your kids to dance or bring up the future generation. Teams like DM look up to all of us not just PD so remember that. You don’t have to want to be the next, Norbert Jason Alice Bong Joseph Katrina (just pick one all Katrina’s are bomb) Bo Jeff or Steve but you can be the first YOU on your own terms. But only if you want it.
Love you all and see you on the floor
